NORINCO calls on U.S. government repeal all the sanctions
China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) is a conventional weapon and military equipment supplier authorized by Chinese government, and conducts its business consistently and strictly in accordance to the scope of operation certified by Chinese government. We hold that non-proliferation of WMD and their means of delivery is conducive to safeguarding international and regional peace and safety, and in the interest of the international community, our country as well as ourselves.
To fully implement the requirements of law and rules regarding to non-proliferation and export control promulgated by the government, NORINCO has adopted a sound internal compliance programs(ICPs) and rigorously complied with the applicable international treaties and domestic rules through concrete action. NORINCO has created ICP office, established export management system according to international practice and strict export business transaction review procedure and monitoring, auditing and accountability mechanism. Furthermore, NORINCO actively exchanged the views with the outside world over non-proliferation and export control, took part in Sino-EU Export Control Seminar at the invitation and received the visit by the delegation from International Trade and Export Control Research Center, American George University. We are going to hold more such exchanges and make corporation with the multinationals on the above mentioned issues.
It is totally baseless and extremely false that the US government has imposed sanctions several times against NORINCO since May 23, 2003 to which we are strongly opposed. We have taken a note of a positive change that US government has lifted the sanction imposed on NORINCO on May 23, 2003. The decision by US government to correct an unjustified sanction is welcomed.
NORINCO has had a lot economic and trade collaboration with its US counterparts, which contributed much to US economy and friendly exchanges between the peoples from two countries, but it came to a complete halt now due to sanctions. We strongly demand that US government repeal all the sanctions against NORINCO, eliminate the negative influence caused by sanctions in timely fashion and turn the trade and economic ties between two sides back on track and move forward.
