NORINCO Signed China's Biggest Overseas Project Contract
May 15, 2004, NORINCO signed the formal contract
for Tehran's Subway Line 4 with Tehran Railway
Company in Iran. Chinese ambassador to Iran, Mr.
Liu Zhentang, and the mayor of Tehran attended
the signing ceremony. The international competitive
bidding of the Line 4 of Tehran's Subway started
in September 2002. NORINCO, on the strength of
the good reputation and experience from building
Line 1 and Line 5 of Tehran's Subway from 1996
to 1999, beat many large international contractors,
include Siemens of Germany and DAELIM from Korea.
This was China's Biggest Overseas Project Contract
to date.
