On February 4, the report meeting for the 30th anniversary of the company was held in the multifunctional hall of the company. More than 600 persons of the company participated in the ceremony, including company executives and staff from various departments of the headquarters, overseas institutions and subsidiaries based in Beijing.

The report meeting aimed to review the history, sum up the experience, communicate the excellent culture, agglomerate the staff team, educate and inspire the cadres and staff to actively contribute to the future development of the company, and create new splendor of NORINCO.

Seven comrades of the company, including Zhou Peide, Fang Jie, Yang Yunli, Liu Zhe, Ji Wei and Qu Xiangyun, addressed the ceremony. They told the moving stories of contributing the youth to NORINCO, keeping progressive and struggling hard from the perspective of different areas and posts. Their reports are vivid, moving and inspiring. The simple but emotional languages of the seven comrades moved the executives and staff of the company on the site and won warm applauses.

Zhao Gang, President of the company, pointed out in the summary speech that the report meeting reflected the experience and emotions of several generations of NORINCO people of growing together with the company, expressing the sentiment of the NORINCO people of loving the motherland and contributing to the industry, and demonstrating the NORINCO spirit of pioneering with hardship, struggling hard, sacrificing without selfishness and being brave in innovation. There are many things to sum up out of the 30-year history of NORINCO, and there are still many moving deeds among the NORINCO team. Over the past 30 years, NORINCO has received the warm care from the Central Committee of the CPC, the State Council and the Central Military Committee of the CPC and the vigorous support from the weapon industry. NORINCO has not only made the obvious achievement in developing the international weapon trade market and building the NORINCO brand, but also exerted the spillover effect of the weapon trade, implemented the state strategy of “going global”, fulfilled the significant progress in development of overseas oil and important mineral resources, international economic and technical cooperation and professional operation of civil products, and made the due contribution to China’s defense industry and the economic and social development. As to the situation faced by the company and the next-step development, Zhao Gang noted that on the one side, the company should observe the view of scientific development as the guide, analyze the internal and external environments faced by the company in the Twelfth Five-year Plan period, research and identify the development strategy planning for the Twelfth Five-year Plan period based on the industry expectation and the need created by the development of the company, and further advance the scientific development of the company. On the other side, Zhao Gang stressed that the company should keep reinforcing the capacity building and enhance the core capacity by formulating and implementing the core capacity enhancement strategy; strengthening the team building to forge a high-quality team and realize the common development of the enterprise and staff; adapting to the market, innovating the mechanism, promoting the scientific development of the company; and continuing the accumulation of the cultural connotation.
